Negative Space

Hello all,

Ed and I were having lunch and he was instructing me on the technique of drawing using negative space. Seeing and drawing the space around the object, rather than the object itself. As we were leaving he 'perceived' the attached photo. That evening I found this poem in a book. I thought I would share this with you.
I love the 'synchronicity' of our group.

The Space Within

Thirty spokes share the wheels hub.
It is the center hole that makes it useful.
Shape clay into a vessel;
It is the space within that makes it useful.
Cut doors and windows for a room;
It is the holes that make it useful.
Therefore profit comes from what is there;
Usefulness from what is not.

So are you saying that Michael is a Hole? ;-)
